Matthew’s in talks to join “Trouble With The Curve”!

Great news as Entertainment Weekly reported that Matthew is taking part in negotiation talks to be cast in Clint Eastwood’s new movie, “Trouble With The Curve”!
Clint Eastwood stars as an aging baseball scout who is losing his sight. He decides to take his estranged daughter (Amy Adams ,also in negotiations), on a road trip to oversee a promising baseball player (newcomer Joe Massingill?).

We believe Matthew will be up for a rival scout role. This movie will be one of Clint’s rare non directed movies as he hands the reins to his trusted Malpaso assistant director, Robert Lorenz.

Scripted by Randy Brown, this promises to be an interesting drama, if a previous mix of Clint, sports and a strong female lead have anything to go by!
Production is slated to begin March onwards in Georgia, Atlanta.

The BFI preview screening of The Descendants was held on Wednesday night, before it opens wide on January 27th. There was a full house and it was wonderful to hear people’s reactions to an emotionally powerful film, with lots of laughter and crying.

The screening being held at the BFI reminded me of Alexander Payne’s talk at the London Film Festival last year.
I took the opportunity to ask him about casting Matthew, whether he tried to cast people who were unexpected or underated. He said he wasn’t familiar with Matthew’s earlier work and he simply had the best audition that Alexander had seen, as well as mentioning that he thinks comedic actors can bring a lot to drama, also mentioning his casting of Judy Greer and Mary Birdsong.

Here is a new picture of Matthew with Alexander at a Golden Globes afterparty, this has been added to our galleries as well as more post Golden Globe pictures, so go check them out!

This weekend brings the SAG Awards where we find out if The Descendants has won Best Ensemble, but it’s up against some stiff competition, so fingers crossed.
